Beyond Apollo Website Making Some Noise

The website for Beyond Apollo continues to pick up accolades in the US and abroad. I’ve just been told that we’ve risen from number 18 to Number 7 in the design charts. Apparently, this is our first 2 week stint in the charts. It has also been chosen for user comments and ratings at the design bookmarking site, irie.be. This, in addition, to appearances on xhilarate, S5-style, spyline, QNT, RGB garden, and praktica. Thanks to Caspar and his extremely talented staff at Version Industries, the designers of the site. It’s been a long time coming - but the Dirty Laundry web series is finally up and running. Check out the interview with guitar hero-ine Marnie Stern, who is kicking off our first episode. Thanks a bunch to Malia James, who, in addition to hosting Dirty Laundry, is an accomplished photographer and bass player. Also thanks to Maura Milan and Matt Chavez for their camerawork. And editors extraordinaire Eric Pritchard and Matt Smith. Producers Niv Gat and Danny Young were a great help as was Mark Galliano. And finally, Aaron Thacker who created the site and the graphics for the show. Next week it’s Mike Watt and in coming weeks we’ve got Cursive, Crystal Antlers and, as they say, much much more.

Beyond Apollo film website launches

The site for the upcoming film version of Beyond Apollo is now up. I wrote the screenplay based on the acclaimed novel of the same name and I’m also the director on the project, which is currently in pre-production. Thanks to Caspar Newbolt and the whole crew at Version Industries for the amazing job on the site, which has already started getting some nice attention.

Dirty Laundry is coming

Dirty Laundry is a new web series I’m putting together. The host is Malia James. When she’s not a web series host, she plays bass for Marnie Stern (who she also tour manages). And she also takes some great photographs (as you can see below). The concept of the show is simple: Malia interviews touring and local indie bands in a laundromat while they both do their laundry. Very matter of fact, off-the-cuff, anything goes…We’ve currently shot segments with Cursive, Crystal Antlers, Mike Watt, The Parson Redheads and Marnie Stern. We’ll be launching the website in the coming weeks…keep an eye out.
